We played 18 holes and the boys played right along with us, hitting here and there. We would all tee off and the boys would hit their way up the fairway and meet us at the green. We had no one around us all day. It was great to be able to take our time and not be rushed.

Both boys are really hitting the ball well. The new clubs Grandma and Grandpa bought them fit perfectly. Keegan was hitting the ball 100 yards and consistently too. Tanner is also hitting the ball consistently.
Today, the boys had their first official golf lesson at Lake Arrowhead Country Club from the pro, Jeremy. He worked with the boys on their swings at the driving range. Both boys need to work on keeping their feet still and their head focused on the ball. However, Jeremy was very impressed with each of their natural swings. He said Keegan was well beyond his years at age 5. They definitely will be good golfers, as long as, they continue their interest in the game.

Of course I'm already pushing for this to be their sport of choice. Less injuries, less competition in high school (considering the amount of kids you compete against in soccer and baseball around here, vs. the amount of kids who have access to the game of golf), a sport you can do all your life, and we can do as a family. So, it's settled. The boys will be golfers. Ok, ok, so a lot can change and they are only 4 and 5, but it was so fun to see them on the course and their excitement for the game. We had so much fun together. What a privilege it is to introduce them to golf at such a young age and lessons on top of that! Not to mention getting to learn the game of golf on a course as nice as Lake Arrowhead CC and so relaxed about having kids on the course. Very few courses allow that.
It's always fun to wonder what the boys will find interest in or stay interested in as they grow older. Will they pursue golf with passion or will it be a fun hobby for them? Will they enjoy baseball or basketball or something totally new that Scott and I aren't familiar with? What a fun thing to think about. All I know, is we're having so much fun seeing them grow and experience things. They are so precious to us and we're so proud of the wonderful boys they are and continue to grow to be.
