Tanner's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Today was Tanner's day. He was so excited for his 1st day of kindergarten after having missed the first 3 days last week from being sick. It worked out great because today was his day and we were all excited for him.
Scott went into work late again so he could be there for Tanner's special start to the school year. We all walked Keegan down to school in the morning and then back up the hill to our house, jumped in the car and drove Tanner to Mission Lutheran school.
He was all smiles and walked right into the kindergarten room, like it was his 100th day there. He knew exactly what to do...first put his stuff away in his cubby, then grab his supply box and notebook and sit down at his seat to begin writing in his journal. He remembered all this from watching Keegan last year!
The teachers, Ms. Mary and Ms. Kelly were so excited to have him in class finally. It was fortunate that Scott was able to be there because I couldn't stay for chapel but he could, otherwise I would have felt bad leaving Tanner on his first morning before chapel. Chapel is such a great time to listen and watch all the little kids lift their voices and move their little bodies in praise to our God. It melts my heart.
I know the longer days are going to be an adjustment for Tanner, but other than that, he's totally ready for kindergarten and right where he belongs. I'm so thankful for Mission Lutheran and the influence it's had on our boys. They are so nurturing and loving there. Definitely a good choice for us to keep them there for kindergarten.
