One of the Best Gifts

What an awesome day. Christmas morning with Keegan, 6 years old, and Tanner, 4 (almost 5 years old). Amazing ages for Christmas time. They were both so incredibly excited all day yesterday. They couldn't wait for Christmas day to arrive. And it was genuine excitement too. Where out of the blue, Keegan would exclaim, "I'm so excited for Christmas tomorrow!" They were both on top of changing the numbers on the santa we use to count down the days until Christmas.
It's such a gift to experience Christmas through the eyes of a child, even better when it's your own child. It brings back memories of the anticipation and excitement we had as kids. The wonder and amazement of Christmas is the best. The twinkling lights, Christmas music playing everywhere, Christmas church service, the Nativity scene, shiny packages under the tree with bows and ribbons, and of course, the beautiful Christmas tree that you could sit and stare at in the dark with it's lights on forever.
Keegan woke up this morning very early ~ 5:30am early! Scott tried to get him to lay back in bed with him until 6am, but I'm sure he never closed his eyes as he layed next to Scott. When the alarm clock said 6am, Keegan was up and ready to wake up the rest of the house. First, he woke Grandma and Grandpa, then Tanner, who took a minute to realize who was talking to him and why they were waking him up. Once Tanner understood it was Christmas morning and it was Keegan waking him up, he sprang to life. Then the boys woke up Aunt Kobi and we all headed downstairs to see what Santa left us. It was priceless to see the excitement on the boys' faces and in their voices. When Tanner was waiting to go downstairs, we asked him if he heard Santa last night and he said "no, he must have been a really quite ho, ho, ho'er!"
We had so much fun watching the boys open their presents and some for ourselves too. Santa was very good to us and the boys were spoiled beyond belief. I was so proud of them though. As they opened presents, they would say thank you to the giver without me prodding them too much. Keegan was especially good at this and you could tell he was sincere about it. It wasn't as natural for Tanner, but he would always be sure to say thank you after Scott or I reminded him. I really am so proud of the great boys they are and the wonderful hearts they have.
So, one of the greatest gifts I was given this year was having my family together with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Kobi from Montana. What could be better? We shared more fun times and made memories to last. Thank you Lord, for all that you've blessed us with. Thank you for my family's health, our home, our happiness. Thank you for these gifts, absolutely priceless gifts.
