Soccer season is in full swing again this year. The boys had their first AYSO soccer games this weekend. Mimi and Papa were there to cheer the boys on. Tanner's game was at 10:45am, with a warmup lesson an hour prior. He had so much fun in his game and got to play with his friend, Dylan for the first game. They changed the format this year, where our team is divided onto three fields of 3 on 3. It gives the kids more ball time and there's less of a "beehive" chasing the ball. The downside is you have no idea how the other kids on the team are doing because you're only able to focus on your kid's game.
Tanner scored 8 goals total, but who's counting? Ok, of course Tanner is! He loves it!
After Tanner's game we all went to lunch, then came right back to the field for Keegan's warmup lesson and game. Keegan had a blast playing in his game and was paired with his friend, Thomas. It was so fun watching the boys play together. Keegan and Tanner have so much coordination. It always amazes me to watch them play. And they absolutely love playing. We're so lucky to be able to put them in such a great program and for them to enjoy it so much.
It was a very fun and full day. Scott and I were wiped out when we got home, and the boys who ran around all day were still full of energy. How does that work?
Not only was yesterday a very fun soccer day for the Shone family, but this morning was too. Scott played in his first soccer game back with his team after breaking his leg a year and half ago. He had so much fun! It was great to see him out there again and he loved every minute of it. So, yes I am officially a soccer mom again and happy to be one.
