It's officially summer! The boys put together a lemonade stand yesterday to raise money to donate to the their VBS camp (Vacation Bible School). Every camp has a mission's cause they raise money for and the boys have always wanted to do a lemonade stand, so this was a perfect opportunity.
They raised $7.50. Mostly from neighbors, but there were a few drivers that stopped and bought a drink. It was so cute to see them in that role.
Today, when the boys were walking out the door to go to VBS, Tanner asked me to put the $5 bill back in his piggy bank and he was just going to give the change to the church. I didn't argue because he's starting to realize the value and importance of money. Before he could have cared less if he gave them a $5 bill or $100 bill. The difference didn't register with him. He must have talked to Keegan, because when Keegan came home today he had saved the two $5 bills for himself that he had originally taken out of his piggy bank to give.
Today was a beautiful, summer day. The boys played outside all afternoon. We set up the new slip-n-slide and they had a blast. I loved today. Exactly what summer is supposed to be like.
