Today was Little League day at the Angels game and we took the boys with some friends to walk the field before the start of the game and then stay for the game. The Angels played the Oakland A's and won 4-0. It was a fun game with a home run and some fireworks. All the Little League players lined up an hour or so before the game started and walked around the field on the dirt. It was a neat experience to see what it would be like to stand on the field as a real MLB player and see all the fans watching you. Mind you the bleachers weren't filled yet, but it gave you a great idea of what it must be like for the players.
The boys loved it and especially loved hanging out with their baseball friends. We went with the Laderer's and Balducci's. Keegan and Tanner had fun sitting with Mikey, Joey, and Ryan. We also saw so many other friends from Little League there, as well as, 5 of Tanner's own teammates there.
We all enjoyed our hot dogs and pop (wouldn't feel like a real ballgame without them) and of course the many, many, peanuts. After this, we treated the boys to some cotton candy, which we rarely do. They were in heaven! I think Keegan ate the entire thing himself albeit the little bit I made him share with Joey sitting next to him. Tanner ate 3/4 of his and then told me to save it for later.
A little while later, we went up into a suite one of Tanner's teammates had and said hi to them. Inside there, the boys were treated to another pop, a carmel covered apple with sprinkles, and a huge bag of gummy bears (probably close to a pound, no joke!). The boys were bouncing off the walls with sugar and loving every minute of it.
We then joined the Laderer's at their house for an impromptu dinner after the game and had a great time. The boys played baseball in their backyard, we enjoyed a yummy dinner, and fun conversation. So lucky to have such great friends in our lives.
